THE ESSENTIALS online: 

The intensive aims to provide actors with a safe, supportive, and rich environment to explore key principles in cinematic storytelling, in order to strengthen moment-to-moment work and truthful behavioral language that reads onscreen.

This 12- hour intensive will transform your understand of filmed stories: how they are written and shot, how an audience receives a visual narrative, and how to apply that knowledge to your work onscreen. 

What we’ll explore: 

Short filmed exercises as building blocks to unlock truthful behavior that reads onscreen

Viewing of film clips to deepen our understanding of visual grammar

Examining how dialogue reveals or obscures the deeper truth of the character 

Learning to read texts for visual storytelling as expressed by a camera

All members are invited to do advanced readings/viewings and exercises. Only PARTICIPANTS will receive feedback, and re-work exercises or acting assignments during the the class. All members invited into open discussions during the sessions
