{Max : Norberta}

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

An elegant dream wedding that Norberta had always been wanted. The wedding started off with classical music and ends with a graceful dance. This is one of the wedding I attend couples of months back. It started in Ritz Carlton Singapore Hotel.
When I step into the bridal’s suite, I could hear a blissful soft classical music roaming around the room, while she is already doing her makeup. The beautiful music did gives inspiration to shoot this wedding well.
I partially love to shoot this wedding as Max was actually the brother of Jason whom engaged me to shoot his wedding couples year back. I could seen many happy familiar faces.
At the very end of their wedding, their best friend went to stage sang them a song and invite them for a dance.

{Carol :: Jimmy}

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Date : 16 Jan 2010
Gown : CL Studio
Childhood MTV : Yang substance.
Videographer : Roger
Banquet : Trader’s hotel.

A year ago when i first met them, the impression I had was that they make a really handsome couple, a pair of love birds which constantly radiates warmth and bliss.
Their wedding was throughly well-planned and everything went smoothly. Even the gods smiled at them and blessed them with a lovely weather.

Upon reaching their hotel, traders hotel, I was impressed with the efficiency of their helpers as they were seen buzzing around moving musical instrument, speakers, laying wires around the banquet hall,
testing and rehersal like little bees on a mission.

I was also flabbergasted by the stage layout as it had a grandeur of a musical concert.

And it is no wonder it was presented as a concert as shortly after, i witnessed the arrival of an awesome chinese band - Black Forest 黑森林. (PS:It is my very first time attending a concert-themed wedding with a chinese band. They are really awesome. Check them out here http://www.blackforestband.com)

The MC’s (Carol’s sister and Ernst) added a personal touch to the dinner by welcoming everyone into the ballroom from the door, introducing themselves and later singing a song while making their way to stage.

It was such a lively wedding that the guests truly felt as ease and were seen to be having loads of fun, making merry and “kampai-ing” each other.

Loads of credit goes to Ernest from the black forest and carol’s sister 勉潔 that night. Their vocal was really impressive and i will not be surprised if they can be seen in the next Singapore Idol competition!

During the 2nd march in, Jimmy rapped a song for his bride when they are entering the ballroom and Carol in return sang a song for him on stage. It was such a sweet gesture.

I am proud and honored to be a witness to Jimmy and Carol’s wedding. It was such a sweet day.
Finally, would also like to express my best wishes to Ernest and 勉潔. You can really keep a secret!

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

I was qualified as a LMPA(UK) Licentiate Master Photographer of MPA on 7-Apr-2010 12:30pm exactly.

Sincerely thanks, to Ryan(FMPA) and Alicia(AMPA) for the patience and time for the valuable pointers which guide me to this licentiate. This is an annual grading which I have actually missed last Oct. I am consider lucky that the the grading happens again this year April again.

In case you are wondering what is MPA, it is an association established in 1952 in UK for full time, qualified and professional photographers.

To be qualified you have to prepare 20 pieces 8R photos ready, mounted on a 16″ by 20″ matt board and present to the 5 FMPA judges to grade your work. They have to agree on that the work submitted meets the standard to get the licentiate. They were strict about your work and no one ever escape their sharp pair of eyes if there were any flaws in your work. On the other hand, they were also wonderful to not just critique my work but to share with me on how I can improve.

Date : 10 Jan 2010
Gown : Julia Wedding News
Banquet : Swissotel Merchant Court.

It has been quite sometime since my last update and there has been a huge backlog due to the previous wedding season. Luckily, I managed to clear them all in time. *smiles*
Well, here’s another gorgeous wedding to share.
With a glorious bright sunny day, the couple started on their journey of a new life together.
I was extremely excited to see many familiar happy faces and it felt as if I am partof the family. I was Meishan’s photographer for her wedding last Dec and it was difficult to address Wenshan! I kept calling Wenshan as Meishan!

{Albert :: Grace}

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Date : 2nd Jan 2010
Gown : Grace’s mother.
Makeup : Mel Chan
Banquet : The Legends @ Fort Canning Park

This was a simple but elegant wedding.
It started off with a small tea ceremony in a private function room, followed by dishes of splendid gourmet + 3 tiers alcoholic cakes.
Grace’s parents was really supportive and i was truly amazed when i realize from Grace that her gown was actually “Made-To-Measure” by her Mom and her Dad would be marching in together with her for the dinner. (This is not the norm) The best is still yet to come! The groom. Albert, will be the guitarist performing for the march-in for his bride and father-in-law!
How lovely it can goes.

A warm hearted wedding filled with loads of joy and laughter. I started my first wedding in 2010 shooting for this lovely couple.
I took their pre - wedding a few months back and finally within a blink of an eye, their moment of eternal happiness arrived.
Everyone present could be heard being excited and ecstatic as the air is buzzing with anticipation to the magical moment. I could really feel the joy, the blessing this wedding was given by all their guests.

Date : 26th Dec 2009
Banquet : York Hotel
Gown : Julia Wedding News

Had not been able to update my blog lately as I had been really busy editing and shooting for this wedding season.
This is my last wedding captured for year 2009 on Boxing Day which is an especially auspicious day to get married for Chinese. This is because when viewed based on the Lunar calendar, it is 11th Nov which would be read as 1111 and therefore, there were quite a fair bit of weddings going on which we observed while traveling.

{Yoon Tee :: Monica}

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Date : 06th Dec 2009
Banquet : Concorde Hotel

Surprise surprise! I was shocked when I reached Monica house in the morning 5:30am. She was done with her makeup and i thought i was late but phew! I wasn’t. Monica had made an arrangement such that both photographer and videographer need not have to wake up early to attend her wedding. Monica is really such a caring and considerate person!

As she is a Indonesian, her parents believe that she should not be allowed to wear her actual gown for the couple pre-wedding bridal shoot. She knows that her parent meant her well, blessing them to have a long lasting marriage ahead. And therefore, she emphasized that she would like to have more pose shots in her actual gown during her wedding and therefore, I had to customize for them something that really works, keeping in mind the constraints.

They love the montage I created for them which was played in the ballroom.

“The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography” ~ www.wpja.com

Received an email this afternoon that I was invited to join the Family of WPJA. I am so glad that I am in the league with some of the best wedding journalists. I am looking forward to produce greater work in the coming season.

I will try my best to achieve more titles in the coming year and hopefully some award winning photos.

{Andrew :: Faith}

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Date : 05th Dec 2009
Church : Holy Grace Presbyterian Church

Another wedding which cannot be missed. Both are education officer.
Faith teaches Chinese while Andrew don’t do well in Chinese. During the gate crashing, Faith written a few Chinese words for Andrew. He has to use those words to form a poem for Faith. The words includes 猪八戒, 神经病! Somehow brilliant Andrew managed to form up an impressive poem which describe Faith so well and beautiful. Everyone was touched.
